About Me

Brought up on the South Coast of the UK, I'm a happy girl who is equally at home in the city as I am in the woods. Formally trained in Fashion and Clothing Design and a self taught photographer, I set up my little business to sell handmade items and have somehow found myself binding books.

Dearest Jackdaw is a small, independent business run by myself, Louise Knight-Richardson - Bookbinder, Photographer, Maker and general flit-between-all-of-the-thingser from the South Coast of England. Predominantly I bind leather journals for artists, writers, composers and dreamers. I take photographs of all sorts of pretty things. I like to rummage for treasure and rescue forgotten textiles, creating gowns adorned with remnants of the past. I collect things I really don't need.

I set up Dearest Jackdaw as a hub for all my creative endeavours. I want reach out to people and share my knowledge, creations and inspire others to try new things, so I also write a
blog which contains craft tutorials and arts and craft features, amongst various other ramblings and photographs.
Since I started writing my blog I have also set up two small online stores.
